49th Annual Prize Distribution

Jalandhar, April 20, 2024: Apeejay College of Fine Arts held its 49th Annual Prize Distribution Function to honour and applaud the hardwork, dedication, persistence of students who had achieved excellence in Academics, Sports, Youth Festival and performed exceptionally in their respective fields.

The Chief Guest of the day was Mrs Balvinder Kaur, IRS, Commissioner of Income Tax, CBDT, Govt. of India. The Principal – Dr Neerja Dhingra welcomed Mr Nirmal Mahajan (Member, Board of Governors), Dr Rajesh Bagga (Director, AIMETC), Mrs Sangeeta Nistandra (Principal, Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg) and Mr A.K. Sharma (Principal, Apeejay School, Rama Mandi).

The Annual report of Session 2023-24 was presented by the Principal where she expressed her gratitude for the guidance extended by Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia (Chairman, Apeejay Education). The students of national winners did Indian Classical Dance, sung Indian Group Song and Group Dance. Mrs Balvinder Kaur expressed her gratitude for being present in the college and she said that she is glad to see an institute which is promoting and preserving the culture and connecting the students with tradition and culture. Dr Dhingra presented a memento to Mrs Balvinder Kaur as a token of love and gratitude. She also presented the mementos to the other guests.

44th Convocation Ceremony

Jalandhar, April 30, 2024: ACFA recently organised its 44th Convocation Ceremony in which as many as 570 students received degrees. Madam Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman of both Apeejay Education and Apeejay Stya & Svran Group and Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University joined the programme virtually to preside over the convocation. Addressing the students, Madam Berlia said, "You are the future of the nation and in life always remember your mentors who were standing by your side to help you manifest your careers and dreams."

Dr Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, was present as the Chief Guest. On this auspicious occasion of the Convocation, Member of the Board of Governors, Shri Nirmal Mahajan and Dr Sucharita Sharma, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University were also present.

The Principal - Dr Neerja Dhingra discussed the achievements of the college in various fields. Expressing his views, Dr Jaspal Singh Sandhu said that the existence of Apeejay College is like the Kohinoor- the diamond where the positive energy does not leave the person without influencing him. The college has its unique identity.

In the 44th Convocation, 43 students were given Roll of Honours for securing the first position in the University. Dr Jaspal Singh Sandhu was honored with a memento.

Certificate course in sketch and paint

Jalandhar, May 2, 2024: ACFA organised 3-week Certificate Course in Sketch and Paint like an artist where they learnt about the elements and principles of art. The students enhanced their knowledge about the different techniques of painting and drawing and how to show their expression through art. The students were enthusiastic about learning Portrait making and Landscape painting.

Students learn to make Home Decor items

Jalandhar, April 29, 2024: In the 'Home Decor with waste material' classes conducted by the Department of Interior Design of ACFA as Skill Enhancement Classes for 12th standard, students learnt how to make various decorative items from waste material. They were taught to make pots with jute and clay, lamps, wall hangings with bamboo sticks, cardboard and jute. Sharing their experience about these classes, the students said, "We never thought that we can make decorative items by re-using the waste material lying at home but these classes taught us various ways of doing so.”

Social Media course for Class XII students

Jalandhar, April 27, 2024: ACFA organised a 3-week Certificate course in Social Media Design free of cost for the students of Class XII. In these classes, Ms Rachita Jain taught the students about designing posts for facebook, instagram, twitter and other social media sites. Also, the students learnt about the design aesthetics, creating a page for their business and using these sites for promotion. They were also acquainted with the basics of Adobe Photoshop which is a crucial software for the editing. The students were very enthusiastic about these classes.

Skill Enhancement Course for Class XII

Jalandhar, April 25, 2024: ACFA recently organised a valuable opportunity for Class XII students with another installment of its Skill Enhancement Course, this time focusing on ‘Beauty and Skin Care Solutions.’ It was led by Ms Meenal Sandhu from the Department of Fashion Makeover, the classes delved into the intricacies of maintaining radiant skin and luscious locks. The Principal highlighted how the course aimed not only to enhance external beauty but also to instill a deeper understanding of internal health.

Farewell Party

Jalandhar, April 24, 2024: ACFA recently held Farewell Party ‘Shubh ashish 2024’ for all the Final year students. The outgoing batch students expressed their gratitude to the faculty for guiding them and helping them to grow and succeed at every step. The students presented contemporary dance, sang melodious songs and performed Bhangra. A modelling session was done for the students of the Final year which was the highlight of the event. The students who won in numerous categories were honoured with gifts and sashes. The Principal wished the students good luck for their future endeavors.

Students Shine in University Examination

Jalandhar, April 19, 2024: ACFA students of B.Voc - Data Science of Semester III and V performed well in the Final examinations conducted by Guru Nanak Dev University. Tanisha Arora of B. Voc. Data Science (Semester III) bagged the First position; Ekam and Arshiya Jairath secured the Second and Third position respectively. Isha Gilhotra of B. Voc. (Semester V) stood first and along with her, Aishwarya Luthra and Sneha Sharma secured the Second and Third positions in the University respectively.

Jalandhar, April 18, 2024: As many as 80 students of Eco Club visited Hari ke Patan, the largest wetland of North India. The students enjoyed the visit and experienced the joy of freshness of nature by spending time. The Principal stated that the objective of the visit was to introduce the students to various flora and fauna of Hari ke Patan and to educate them about the importance of nature and its necessity in life.

Jalandhar, April 15, 2024: The Punjabi Department of ACFA organised a visit for its students to Punjab Natshala, Amritsar. During the visit, they were treated to a play titled "The Tragedy of Jallianwala Bagh," written by Punjabi playwright Jatinder Brar. The performance received appreciation from the faculty, while the Punjab Natshala team applauded the students for their engagement in the arts.
