Jalandhar, January 24, 2024:Students made 'Mood Boards' and 'Mind Mapping Diagrams' on the second day of the 8th International Design Week at ACFA. The theme was 'Design Thinking' wherein the students conducted research about the needs of disabled people. In order to make the product convenient for the disabled people, the students visited the handicapped ashram and met the visually impaired people and learned about their difficulties. This was followed by students putting pictures on mood boards comparing the life of a healthy person and a disabled person so that they can move forward in making products as per the requirement. The students also made mind-mapping diagrams to understand the struggles and disabilities of disabled people in order to design the product in the right way.

ACFA conducted a Placement Drive

Jalandhar, January 30, 2024: A placement drive was organised for all the students of the college by the Department of Journalism and Communication at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar in collaboration with Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM, in which the students participated with great enthusiasm and zeal. The team of Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM discussed related topics and examined the eloquence, fluency and sense of humor of the students. Urvi of B. Voc E-Commerce was selected as RJ for Jalandhar and Pearl Kakadiya was selected for Chandigarh by the team of Radio Mirchi. The Principal congratulated the students and wished them good luck for their future endeavors.

Jalandhar, January 29, 2024: The closing ceremony of the 8th International Design Week was organised at ACFA.Congratulating Mr Budi Loonen, Senior Art Director of 'NO Tomato' Ad Agency Netherlands, the Principal said that it is the privilege of our students that they got the opportunity to work with a renowned international designer in the field of design. 16 groups of as many as 200 students presented their creative models.

Republic Day Celebration

Jalandhar, January 27, 2024: ACFA strives for the academic and cultural development of the students and also makes efforts to make the students aware of the importance of national festivals. With this aim, on the occasion of 75th Republic Day, the School Principal and students hoisted the tricolor flag in the college premises, paying homage to the tricolor. The students participating in the Design Week also participated in the tricolor hoisting ceremony with great enthusiasm and excitement.

National Voters’ Day

Jalandhar, January 25, 2024: ACFA observed National Voters' Day with the motto to acquaint students with its importance and ultimately make them good and responsible citizens. The students took an oath to exercise their right to vote honestly at the time of elections in order to send the right representation to the Lok Sabha and thus contribute to the development of the country.

8th International Design Week Inauguration

Jalandhar, January 23, 2024: The eighth International Design Week was inaugurated by the Department of Design, Applied Art, Multimedia, Product Design, Sculpture and Fine Arts with the theme 'Design Thinking'. On the first day of the Design Week, Mr. Budi Loonen, Senior Art Director of 'NO Tomato' ad agency Netherlands and Dr. Rawal Singh Aulakh,Assistant Professor, Department of Architecture, Guru Nanak Dev University were present as key speakers.

The Principal warmly welcomed the key speakers and Dr. Sucharita Sharma (Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University). She also shared that ACFA has been organising Design Week since 2012 and since then expert designers from Netherlands, China and Singapore have been invited to address our students. In fact, our students always look forward to Design Week every year. She added the students will learn the intricacies of design from the experienced source speakers.

Faculty Development Programme

Jalandhar, January 18, 2024: The PG Department of English organised a Faculty Development Programme where a discussion of the book 'Phoenix in Flames' took place. The book is written by Dr Rachna Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, New Delhi, who has now established herself as a successful writer. Dr Rachna Singh discussed about her inspiration and her journey of becoming a writer. It was an enlightening session and concluded with a memento presented to Dr Singh by the Principal.

Jalandhar, January 10, 2024: A seven-day NSS camp was inaugurated by the NSS wing of the college. The camp was organised to create awareness amongst the youth regarding the protection of the environment. Numerous subject-matter experts were invited to conduct sessions with the students. In this camp, as many as 50 students of the college participated in it. Further, the students practiced yoga and learned ways to protect environment.

Jalandhar, December 20, 2023: Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar conducted a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) with the collaboration of IQAC on Artificial Intelligence - Pros and Cons. Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra sharing her views on the relevance of FDPs said, "Irrespective of our respective fields, it is essential for us to keep ourselves updated with the latest prevalent trends." Talking about AI, she said that AI is going to stay and it is essential for us to aquaint ourselves with its advantages and limitations.
