ACFA student bag top positions in Inter-University Youth Fair
Jalandhar, December 01, 2023: The students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar added another feather in their ever shining cap of achievements. Representing Guru Nanak Dev University in the Punjab Inter University Youth Fair organized by the Government of Punjab, Apeejayites participated in various competitions and secured first and second positions.
Vikash of BFA 3rd semester got first position in Rangoli, Sahajdeep Singh of BA 5th semester got first position in Classical Instrumental Non-Percussion and Nirvair Singh, Iqra, Sanyam, Ankush, Ankit Dharmani and Ramneesh Kaura got second position in Skit.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra congratulated the students on their wonderful achievement and encouraged and inspired them to continue participating in various competitions in future also. Students securing first and second positions were honoured with certificates and mementos.
Photography tour to Amritsar
Jalandhar, November 15, 2023: The Department of Applied Art of Apeejay College organised a captivating photography tour to the culturally vibrant city of Amritsar. This initiative was a crucial part of the curriculum aimed at providing students with practical insights into the art of photography and fostering cultural exchange. The primary objective of the tour was to immerse the students in a real-world photography environment, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom to practical scenarios.
Our star shooter shines at the 15 th Asian Shooting Championship
Jalandhar, November 10, 2023: Harmehar Singh Lally, a student of BD (Semester - I) of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar participated in the 15 th Asian Shooting Championship held in South Korea from 22 nd October to 2 nd November 2023. He performed brilliantly in shooting and won three gold medals - individual, team and mixed team and brought glory to the college and his parents. It is worth mentioning that 813 participants from 30 different countries had participated in this championship.
Principal Dr Neerja Dhingra congratulated Harmehar and wished him best for the future. She added that students participating in sports while shining in academics help them to develop a holistic personality which is the demand of contemporary times.
Workshop on ‘Instrumental assisted Soft tissue Mobilisation’
Jalandhar, October 09, 2023: The Department of Physiotherapy organised a hands-on workshop on 'Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization'. The chief speakers of this workshop were Dr Simarjit Sharma, a leading physiotherapist of Patiala who is also associated with Punjab Cricket Association and Kesar Wrestling Academy Patiala. Also, he was a proud alumnus of ACFA. Along with him was present Dr Inderpreet Kaur Bakshi, a consultant physiotherapist at Amar Hospital, Patiala and an expert in athlete recovery and manual exercises.
In the workshop, students learnt about intricacies of removing the wound tissue with the help of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation and they learnt the correct method of using this instrument.
Diwali Fair 2023
Jalandhar, November 08, 2023: A grand Diwali fair was organised by the Department of Design, PG Department of Fine Arts and PG Department of Fashion Makeover of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar. On this occasion, Dr Preet Kanwal, wife of Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal (IAS), Jalandhar, presided as the Chief Guest. Dr Kanwal is an expert in anesthesia and critical care.
The students displayed artistic furniture, Diwali platters, handmade kalidaar kurta, hand-printed bags, handmade jewellery, canvas, cushion covers and other such items, along with the various food stalls which were set-up. Principal, Dr Neerja Dhingra appreciated the efforts of all the faculty members of the Design Department, Fine Arts Department and Fashion Makeover Department for successfully organising the Diwali fair.
ACFA celebrated incredible journey of Chairperson Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia on her Birthday
Jalandhar, November 02, 2023: Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar celebrated the birthday of its Chairperson, Madam Sushma Paul Berlia in a distinguished manner. Mrs Berlia is Chairperson of Apeejay Education, Chairperson of Apeejay Stya and Svrán group and Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University.
The Principal extended birthday wishes to Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia on behalf of all the students and staff. The celebrations began with invoking the divine blessings. The students from Department of Music recited ‘Govardhan Girdhari’. They also highlighted the accomplishments of Madam Sushma Paul Berlia and a documentary was shown to the students which highlighted her spectacular journey. A brilliant Kathak performance and a scintillating choreography was also presented in her honour.
Workshop on Fundamentals of CNC Machine
Jalandhar, November 01, 2023: The Department of Interior Design hosted a workshop titled ‘Exploring the Fundamentals of CNC Machine’ in the college's carpentry workshop. This enlightening event was attended by students specialising in Interior Design and Product Design.
Mr Ravinder Singh, a seasoned CADCAM engineer with expertise in CNC machine applications, travelled from Abu Dhabi (UAE) to serve as the key resource person for this workshop. During the workshop, Mr Singh and his team provided comprehensive training to the students on operating the CNC machine and its associated software, while emphasising the correct utilisation of tools.
Karwa Chauth celebrations
Jalandhar, October 31, 2023: The Department of Fashion Makeover and Applied Art of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar held Pre-Karwa chauth celebrations. The students of the department had held mehendi and nail art services for the students and the faculty of the college. The entire college was filled up with the festive vibes. The students of B. Voc Beauty and Cosmetology and BFA showed their creativity. Few stalls of press-on nails and bangles too were set up on this day. On this occasion, Principal Dr Neerja Dhingra opined that such occasions give the students an opportunity to explore their skills and they get a platform where they learn while earning.
Guest lecture on World Mental Health
Jalandhar, October 30, 2023: On the occasion of World Mental Health month, a guest lecture on the topic Reinforcing Mental Health: A step towards creating awareness. It was organised by the Psychology Forum of the Department of Psychology, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar. The resource person was Ms Prabhleen Kaur (Counseling Psychologist from Umeed Hospital Jandiala). Principal Dr Neerja Dhingra, while expressing her views on this occasion, said that students studying in college often go through lot of stress being under lot of pressure and worried about their careers. This is a crucial time when students need to take the right decisions for their career.
11th Inter-School Tech Fest
Jalandhar, October 26, 2023: The IT Forum of P.G. Department of Computer Science and IT of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organised 11th Inter-School Tech Fest. As many as 657 students of 28 different schools of Punjab participated in this fest where 20 types of competitions were organised - Business Idea Presentation, Play with Clay, Painting on the Spot, General Quiz Bonanza, Gaming, Picture Captioning and many more.
The Chief Guest was Dr Sucharita Sharma (Director, Apeejay Education) and during the Valedictory function was Major (Dr) Irwin Kaur (Assistant Commissioner in Deputy Commissioner office in Jalandhar district).
Addressing the students, Principal Dr Neerja Dhingra said that ACFA always aims to provide holistic development and education to its students. Also, the stage of ACFA has given birth to many artists and she is sure that all the youngsters here will learn something and touch greater heights tomorrow.

Youth Festival 2023
Jalandhar, October 20, 2023: Our College created history once again by emerging victorious for 22nd time in row in C - Zone Youth Festival held by GNDU. In the current academic session 2023-24, Youth Festival was held by and at GNDU, Amritsar from 18th October to 20th October 2023. Our College participated in as many as 35 competitions. ACFA emerged victorious by giving incredible performances and owned the Championship trophy by scoring 148 points. It bagged the First position in 17 items, Second position in 11 items and Third position in 4 items.
The Principal expressed her happiness seeing the best performances of her students and emerging victorious and carrying the legacy of ACFA being the true carriers of art, ""Our students truly walk on the path laid down by our respected Dr Stya Paul Ji, the Inspiration behind all Apeejay Education institutions who had been a true epitome of hardwork, dedication and persistence." She also expressed her gratitude to Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson, Apeejay Education under whose guidance and with whose infinite support, this victory has been possible.
Students shine in a debate competition
Jalandhar, October 16,2023: The students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar participated in the inter-college debate competition organised by the Rotary Club Jalandhar on the topic of 'Artificial Intelligence' and won the runner-up trophy with their excellent performance. Siddharth Cheema, a student of B.Voc Data Science (Semester - I) won the runner-up trophy with his excellent performance competition. Another student - Shobhna, a student of BA (Semester - I) also participated in this competition and received the participant certificate.
Workshop for Fashion Makeover students
Jalandhar, September 30, 2023: A two-day workshop on 'Fundamentals of Hair Cutting' was organised by the Department of Fashion Makeover. Mr Tanveer from Tanveer Unisex Salon Jalandhar was present as the resource speaker in this workshop. On the first day of this workshop, Mr Tanveer along with his team taught the students about the techniques of hair cutting according to the type of hair and the correct usage of tools. He also emphasised the satisfaction of the client. On the second day of this workshop, the students visited his salon and practiced with their own hands the techniques of hair cutting that they had learned on the first day of workshop and they also learnt about the salon management skills.
Film Review Session
Jalandhar, October 13, 2023: The PG Department screened a movie 'Pride and Prejudice' which is based on the novel of the same title written by Jane Austen - a famous and well-known author of 18th century. The students watched the movie and afterwards wrote a film review of it with much enthusiasm, explaining the difference between the novel and the film. They also analysed the main characters, plot and episodes of the movie. The students were also awarded for the film review.
