The Psychology Forum and The Listening Room of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organized the culminating event of World Mental Health Month by hosting an insightful workshop titled “Mental Health Café.” The session was led by Ms. Prachika Chopra, a Counselling Psychologist and Play Therapist, who explored the theme through an engaging and interactive approach. Ms. Chopra elaborated on the foundational theoretical models and therapeutic techniques that shape this domain, offering a nuanced understanding of Play Therapy. The discussion emphasized the effectiveness of Play Therapy for children aged 3 to 12, especially those struggling to express their emotions verbally while dealing with trauma, anxiety, grief, behavioural challenges, or developmental delays.

Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar which is known across the nation for its art and culture and creating stars has once again proved that it is the epitome of the best of what Fine Arts and Performing Arts can create. The college participates in Youth Festival every year which is conducted at and by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in order to give a platform to the students to encourage their skills and participation in extra-curricular activities. In the 3 day C - Zone's Zone A Youth Festival held from 25th - 27th October 2025, ACFA participated in total 35 items and won the covetous top 3 prizes in different items. ACFA scored 147 marks and owned the Championship trophy and once again created history while maintaining its legacy. The college bagged covetous first prizes in 18 items - Kawishri, Mime, Skit, One Act Play, Costume Parade, Classical Vocal, Classical Instrumental (Percussion), Rangoli, Clay Modeling, Debate (English & Hindi), Collage making, Group Song, Group Shabad/ Bhajan, Classical Dance, Western Vocal (Solo & Group), Western Instrumental Solo. The college bagged 2nd prizes in 10 items - Choreography, Vaar Singing, General Dance, Painting on the Spot, Mimicry, Elocution (English & Punjabi), Phulkari, Geet/Ghazal and Poster Making and 3rd prizes in Gidha, Bhangra, Folk Song and Folk Orchestra.

The students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar have brought laurels to the institution by securing third place in the Inter-College Badminton Championship organized by Guru Nanak Dev University at Doaba College. The team comprised of Ribhav Batra (B.Design 7th Semester), Sarthak Gupta (BBA 5th Semester), Ishan Kalsi (B.Voc 1st Semester), Shreyansh Chauhan (BBA 1st Semester), Krish Kohli (BBA 5th Semester), and Ashish Narang (B.Voc 5th Semester) showcased their exceptional skills and teamwork. Their outstanding performance earned them a proud third position in the championship. Notably, Ribhav Batra and Sarthak Gupta have been selected to represent the University team, a testament to their outstanding performance.

Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, through its Psychology Forum and The Listening Room, observed World Mental Health Week from 1st to 10th October 2025 to commemorate World Mental Health Day, celebrated globally on 10th October. This year’s theme, “Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies,” emphasized the importance of ensuring mental well-being even in the face of global crises. The week-long celebration commenced on 1st October with a Workshop on Expressive Arts Therapy conducted by Ms. Niharika Mazumdar from the Department of Psychology. The session explored the therapeutic use of creative art forms to promote emotional expression and healing. Next, the students from various departments enthusiastically participated in engaging activities such as a Photo Booth and Open Mic, which provided them with a platform to creatively express their perspectives on mental health. The series of activities concluded with a Group Meditation Session for the faculty, incorporating Jacobson’s Progressive Muscle Relaxation Techniques to enhance mindfulness and stress management.

Kritagya Gaba has secured an impressive 2nd position in the University with a CGPA of 8.49. Following her are Nandini Chopra at 17th position (CGPA 8.10), Sukhanjot Singh Johal at 21st position (CGPA 8.01), Meenakshi Saili at 23rd position (CGPA 7.98), and Avni at 43rd position (CGPA 7.76).

Eleven cadets from the NCC unit of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar participated in the 10-day Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) held at CT Institute, Shahpur, from 2nd July to 11th July 2025. The camp was meticulously organized by 2 Punjab Battalion NCC, Jalandhar. Apart from rigorous physical and defence training, the cadets participated actively in various sports and cultural programmes, showcasing their multi-faceted talents.

Samairaa Chetal brought laurels by securing first position in extempore, while Disha Sharma demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship by achieving first position in basketball. Anushka won third position in both weapon handling and basketball, exhibiting precision and team spirit. Nisha was appreciated with a certificate for her participation in cultural activities. Ahana Chaudhary received a certificate for her involvement in volleyball, and Nandini was acknowledged with a certificate for her confident and engaging compering during the cultural events.

Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, in collaboration with SPIC MACAY and the PG Department of Indian Classical Dance, hosted a spectacular Kathak performance by internationally acclaimed dancer Shri Rajendra Gangani. He has presented his art in several countries including the USA, Africa, and England.

In his address, Pandit Rajendra Gangani of the Jaipur Gharana expressed that the way the college is promoting the rich legacy of music and dance, the younger generation will remain connected to their heritage and contribute to its growth.

The event began with a soulful performance of the Panchakshari mantra "Om Namah Shivaya," composed by Adi Shankaracharya. He also presented an emotionally stirring Ganesh bhajan, “Naachat Bhajan,” in the Jaipur style, leaving the audience spellbound.

At Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, students who have recently taken their 12th grade exams have made the most of their transitional phase by engaging in thoughtfully designed skill enhancement classes offered by college free of cost.

In the ‘Sketch and Paint like an Artist’ class, students delved into visual arts. The Modern Media Anchoring and Digital Storytelling course, introduced students to scriptwriting, voice modulation, and digital platforms. In performing arts, Kathak and Contemporary Dance sessions allowed students to master expressions and rhythm, while embracing body language, flexibility, and techniques in contemporary choreography. Students with musical interests were catered to in ‘Recognize the Singer in You’ and ‘Skill Development in Western and Indian Musical Instruments’ classes.

The PG Department of Commerce and Management at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, is currently conducting Skill Enhancement classes for +2 students, aimed at familiarising them with key aspects of Business Communication. Faculty members from the Commerce Department, provided students with insights into various forms of communication, including written, oral, and gestural communication. They also discussed the impact of several factors such as stress, trust issues, chain of command, environment, and technology on effective communication.

Students were introduced to key barriers in communication such as semantic, organisational, and socio-psychological barriers, along with their relevance to real-life scenarios. An engaging activity was also conducted, during which students discussed how these factors influence their personal communication experiences, making the session interactive and reflective.
