A Painting Competition - manual and digital on the subject of sports, nature and art & culture of Punjab was organized at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar with the joint efforts of District Administration and Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar. This competition was organised under the guidance of Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar. Students of Department of Fine Arts, Applied Art, Design and Multimedia participated in this competition.

In the manual Painting, first position was bagged by Sahil (MA - Fine Arts), second position by Natasha (MA - Fine Arts), third position by Megha Thakur (BDM) and Consolation prizes by Palak (MA - Fine Arts) and Riddhi Gupta (BFA).

In Digital Painting, Aashi Jaiswal (BFA), clinched the first position while Diya Talwar (BFA) bagged the second position and Kiran (BDM) and Mehak Gupta (BDM) grabbed the third positions.

Principal Neerja Dhingra congratulated the students and praised the efforts of Mr. Anil Gupta (Head, Department of Applied Art), Mr. Basudev Biswas (Department of Sculpture), Dr. Rimpy Parmar (Head, Department of Fine Arts) and Dr. Jeevan Kumari for successfully organising this competition.

Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar represented Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in the North Zone Youth Festival held from 1st to 5th February, 2025 at Punjab University, Chandigarh and bagged the overall 3rd position.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra expressed her gratitude for Dr. Amandeep Singh, In charge, Youth Welfare, GNDU who after testing the talent of the students, provided them this golden opportunity to go ahead and perform in North Zone Festival.

Dr. Dhingra also shared the results of North Zone Festival. She shared that Apeejayites won the first position in Rangoli, Western Group Song, Mimicry, Clay Modeling, Classical Percussion and Mime, second position in Group Dance, third position in Western Solo, Classical Dance, fourth position in Folk Orchestra, Skit, Quiz and One Act Play. She acknowledged the efforts of Dr. Arun Mishra, Cultural Coordinator of the college and Dr. Amita Mishra and Dr. Micky Verma and wished them luck for National Youth Festival.

The Student Welfare Association and Youth Club of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, celebrated the festival of Basant Panchami with great enthusiasm under the event titled ‘Bahar’. The event commenced with the worship of Goddess Saraswati. The Student Welfare Association and Youth Club organized a kite-flying competition for boys and a kite-decoration competition for girls.

One of the key highlights of the event was the lively and engaging presence of RJ Luveena, a former student of the college, who entertained the students with a variety of fun games and interactive activities. Dr. Dhingra felicitated the winners of various competitions organized on this day with mementos.

Gurnit Kaur Nijjar, a student of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, represented India in Cultural Exchange Programme in South Africa

Gurnit Kaur Nijjar, a student of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Design (Multimedia) and an active member of College's Giddha Team represented India in various cities of South Africa with the courtesy of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

She got this honour of presenting a splendid presentation of the rich Punjabi culture and folk dance Giddha in the foreign land where Ms. Kaur along with her team showcased the rich culture of Punjab in the cities of South Africa - Pietermaritzburg, Johannesburg, Newcastle and Ladysmith.

It is worth mentioning that she was provided with a White passport by the Government of India which was indeed a matter of pride and honour for her.

This cultural programme was organised to strengthen the cultural exchange between India and South Africa.

Also, being the part of College's Giddha team, Gurnit Nijjar has participated in Giddha during Zonal and Inter - Zonal Youth Festival organized by GNDU, Amritsar and has bagged first and second positions.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra congratulated her and wished her good luck for the future.

Dr. Dhingra added that at Apeejay, students are encouraged for the all-round development which boosts their confidence and thus, they don't hesitate to leave their comfort zones behind and take up all the opportunities which allow them to spread their wings and showcase their talents.

Dr. Dhingra also acknowledged the efforts of Ms. Lovepreet Kaur of Department of Punjabi for teaching the nuances of Giddha and making her students proficient in it.

Alumni Committee has been formed by the Alumni Cell of Apeejay College of Fine Arts Jalandhar which consists of Apeejay Professionals and former students of ACFA. While sharing her views on this, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra said that our alumni play an important role in taking forward the heritage, culture and traditions of the college. Our aim is to inspire the current students of the college to build a happy and bright future while taking guidance and motivation from their alumni.

The members of the Alumni Committee are - Amarjot Singh, Akash Nagpal, Nikhil Mahajan, Anuj Madaan, Ankur Jain, Nidhi Sharma, Manpreet Singh Gaba, Harpreet Singh, Gagandeep Singh, Nidhi Beri, Zorawar Singh, Dr. Anadi Mishra, Rajat Aggarwal and Amandeep Kaur. All of them were honoured by Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra and Dr. Jagmohan Mago, Dean, Alumni Committee.

The 'Economics Forum' of Department of Economics of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, showed the live budget to the students of BA, BSc. (Economics), B.Com. and BBA. Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, expressed her views on the significance of the budget. She said, “We ensure that students understand the essential nuances of the degree they are pursuing. For the students of Economics, B.Com and BBA, it is a must to understand the economical activities of their nation and the Financial budget of the nation certainly highlights the same. Dr. Supreet Talwar, Head, Department of Economics did Career Counselling of the students and shared where the livelihood opportunities were higher as per the budget.

On the occasion of Golden Jubilee of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, the PG Department of Computer Science & IT Forum orgnaised 15th Tech Fest - an Inter-School Competition. As many as 500 students from 15 different schools of Punjab participated in it where 20 types of competitions were organised such as Business Plan Presentation, Play with Clay, Painting on the Spot, General Quiz Bonanza and many more.

During the Inaugural Ceremony, Dr. Neerja Dhingra (Principal, ACFA) warmly welcomed Dr. Sucharita Sharma (Director, Apeejay Education) who had presided the event as a Chief Guest. In her welcome address, Dr. Neerja Dhingra put forth that that Apeejay College has completed its 5 glorious decades of quality education and is especially known for its exceptional and excellent Fine Arts' courses. Dr. Dhingra added that it has been the vision and foresightedness of Dr. Stya Paul Ji, the Inspiration Behind all Apeejay Education institutions, the exceptional leadership of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia (Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group; Chairman, Apeejay Education, Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University) and encouragement of Dr. Neha Berlia (Joint Secretary, Apeejay Education) that ACFA has reached at this height today and is ever ready to start a new era of learning and technology.

During the Valedictory Ceremony, Mr. Gautam Jain (IAS), Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar was present as a Chief Guest. Also, Dr. Amandeep Singh, Incharge, Youth Festival, GNDU was present as the Guest of Honour. The students of Contemporary Form of Dance awed the audience with their energetic fusion dance. The Championship Trophy of Tech Fest 2025 was bagged by Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg whereas Swami Sant Dass Public School bagged the Second prize and MGN Public School, Adarsh Nagar, Jalandhar bagged the Third position. All the winning students received the certificates and prizes.

Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar unfurled tricolour flag on the occasion of 76th Republic Day. The Principal, faculty members and students enthusiastically became the part of these celebrations and expressed their regard and respect for the National flag and Constitution of India which established India as a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular and Democratic Republic.

The students and faculty also sang the National anthem and immersed in patriotism. Opining her views on Republic Day celebrations, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra said that National festivals certainly hold a special place in our life and it is essential to make today's youth its active part.

Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar observed National Voters Day with the motto to make students more responsible and good citizens. On this occasion, the Principal opined that the College always strives to make its students socially responsible and a good human being by involving them in such social tasks and imbibing moral values in them while making them understand to use their right to vote appropriately. The students took an oath to always have integrity and choose the right path.

Also, on 19th January 2025, as many as 500 students from Jalandhar district participated in Election Quiz organised by the Punjab Government in which Pragati, a student of Bachelor of Design bagged the top position at district level and thus became eligible to participate at State level.

Apeejay College of Fine Arts Jalandhar organised a Grand Musical Performance in the college campus where Ustad Dilshad Khan (Renowned International Sarangi Artist) and Sri Siddhartha Chatterjee (Renowned Tabla Artist) were present. Both the artists mesmerised the audience with their skillful art on the Sarangi and Tabla.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra warmly welcomed the guests and put forth that our campus is truly blessed and privileged where artists of such incredible and distinct talent and national and international stature visit and make the time here historical and memorable. She thanked the artist for their presence and expressed humble gratitude towards Dr. Stya Paul, Inspiration behind all Apeejay Education institutions, Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Education and Dr. Neha Berlia, Joint Secretary, Apeejay Education for their constant inspiration, guidance and support.

The musical performance gave exposure to the students which truly inspired and motivated them while cherishing our rich Indian Classical Music.
