Jalandhar, October 5, 2019: The Valedictory Ceremony of the International Design Week was a collaborative programme comprising international and national professionals, academicians and students. The motive of this workshop was an endeavour to process thinking amongst two different cultures to generate sustainable and eco-friendly designs which are aesthetically pleasing and promote harmonious living. The theme of the 7th International Design Week was ‘How to Solve Social Problems as Designers’ along with other sub themes as Education –

- Private and Public
The students designed the furniture for living room, class rooms, and schools – taking inspiration from the tales of their grandmother. The artistic pieces created by the students, under the guidance of their mentors, were not only aesthetically pleasing but sustainable and environment friendly as well.
College Principal, Dr Sucharita Sharma, put forth her views about this International Design Week and said that she is sure that through interactions and discussion with the designers of other countries, students have learnt lot about their manners, skills and culture and not only this but this has also helped them to polish their skills and explore new challenges. Ms Rajni Kumar, Coordinator, Design Week thanked Ms Ronita Chopra, Director, Evergreen Publications and all the international professionals & designers for making the event successful. The students were honoured by Dr Sucharita, Renate Boere, Quirine Dob, Jurgen Bey and Melle Smets.
