Jalandhar, Nov 26, 2019: The NSS Wing and Youth Club of Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar, celebrated ‘Constitution Day’ to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. A group discussion was conducted in the College for the students about the fundamental duties of Indian citizens and their relevance in the present scenario.
Around 15 students participated in the group discussion in which they showcased their ideas about the relevance of fundamental duties. Through group discussion, students realised that it is important for citizens in a democracy to observe fundamental duties so that the rights given to every person of the society by the constitution do not get violated.
Putting forth her views, Dr Sucharita Sharma, College Principal, said the fundamental duties define the moral obligation of all citizens to help in the promotion of the spirit of patriotism and to uphold the unity of India. It is important for the youth to realise the importance of our duties along with our rights.
She also congratulated Dr Apra, Dean, NSS, for the successful completion of the celebration of Constitution Day.
