Jalandhar, April 10, 2021: The Department of Physiotherapy of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organised a Seminar and Poster Making Competition on the topic ‘Understanding Pelvic Health in Children and Adults’. Through Poster Making, the general awareness regarding various Pelvic floor dysfunctions as Prostate Cancer, overactive bladder, constipation, inconsistency, Enuresis, painful bowel, and bladder, etc. was created.
On the same topic, Dr. Anoop Kumar, MCH, Urology, Chief Guest of the day, discussed the treatments (from surgical to physiotherapeutic) with the students.
Dr. Lalit Tandon, MD (Pediatrics), the key speaker of the day shared his thoughts with students about the ‘Nutritional requirement in Children and Adults’. He shared that a balanced diet - full of nutrients including amino acids, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, etc. should be taken by adults and kids. The lack of a balanced diet in today’s ever-competitive age results in serious health hazards in the form of chronic diseases.
College Principal, Dr. Neerja Dhingra shared her views and put forth that for our students of Physiotherapy, this interaction with the expert doctors in the field is going to prove beneficial. The students can certainly learn from their experience and can use it for their enhancement.
She also congratulated the winners of the Poster Making Competition and appreciated the efforts of Dr. Neeraj Katyal and his Department for successfully organising the Seminar for the well-being of their students and to provide the exposure required at this stage.
