Jalandhar, June 29, 2021: The Department of Psychology of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, organised a webinar on the theme of ‘Dance Movement Therapy’ in which Shinu Kochhar, Budding Psychologist and Alumna of the college threw light on ‘Expressive Arts Therapy’. The speaker elaborated on dance movement therapy which is one of the most popular expressive art therapy to deal with various mental problems like stress, anxiety, mild depression, and personality disorders. During the session, the speaker demonstrated the process of dance movement therapy in the form of different activities. The students from the Psychology Department as well as from other departments actively participated in the webinar and learned new forms of therapeutic techniques. Dr. Neerja Dhingra, College Principal, congratulated Ms. Monica Sekhon, HOD, and Dr. Monica Bahri, Department of Psychology on organising such an informative webinar successfully. She appreciated the theme of the webinar and mentioned that in the present scenario such stress-relieving activities will serve the purpose. Moreover, dance movement therapy will increase our mental strength to fight the detrimental effects of coronavirus.
