Jalandhar, Aug. 11, 2018: Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), which was established with the motto ‘Soaring High is My Nature’, moved one step further in this direction when it achieved an exuberant grant of Rs 5 crore from the University Grants Commission (UGC) to set up the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kaushal Kendra in the College campus. With this grant, the ACFA is going to begin new vocational courses which are mainly directed to promote employment skills amongst its students:

B.Voc. Data Science
B.Voc. Health Care Management
B.Voc. Beauty and Wellness
B.Voc. Product Design Management & Entrepreneurship
The motive of the College has always been to implant practical knowledge in students which they can use in life to empower and make themselves financially independent. These new age courses are undoubtedly aimed only towards this purpose.
Expressing her ecstasy on the jubilant occasion, College Principal, Dr. Sucharita Sharma, boasted about the other courses being offered by the College. She said that these new age courses are becoming the source of attraction amongst the students. Nowadays, students not only go for the traditional courses running since ages but with the advancement in times and the new professions being introduced, they are opting for such vocational courses and consequently establishing themselves well in their careers. Further, she added that all these courses are under the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) that promotes the skill based education which will help the students to enhance their practical skills and they will move towards the path of well established employment opportunities.
Dr. Sucharita congratulated the UGC Committee members – Dr. Kewal Krishan, Dr. Monica Arora, Ms. Rekha & Ms. Garima Arora for their tireless efforts and she added that in future, too, we will keep working to move ahead according to the new age requirements.
